Start making plans now to attend the 2009 Kentucky Teaching and Learning Conference. The theme, Building to Proficiency and Beyond: Sharing Success from Kentucky Schools, will showcase excellence from schools and districts across the Commonwealth along with multiple featured speakers and our KDE partners whose work is aligned to the various aspects of student engagement.
The 2009 Kentucky Teaching and Learning Conference will begin with an opening keynote address, reception, and drawing for a cruise on Wednesday evening, March 4. Workshops and concurrent sessions will be conducted Thursday, March 5, and Friday, March 6. This year's venue will be the Kentucky International Convention Center and the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky.
The Kentucky Teaching and Learning Conference provides a unique opportunity for administrators and educators to share current, relevant, research-based ideas and strategies around targeted topic areas that can be immediately implemented in schools and districts. These ideas and strategies positively impact or support student learning using technology as a tool.
We continue to make adjustments in our planning so that your attendance and participation at the conference will be a high quality experience. The areas of focus for the 2009 Kentucky Teaching and Learning conference are as follows:
